I hope I am wrong, but it doesn't look like the Mallaig I remember from the sixties, there were more boats in the harbour at all times, even when the fishing fleet was outit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I would give Iceland a search as I think it is a place that uses geothermal heating that you are looking forit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

did you have any joy on the camera - serial numbers etc? if you can find out where it was sold (even to the nearest country) you'll give yourself some better ideas.
My guess would be Scotland/New Zealand/Nova Scotia.

I'm not going to argue as I'd never even heard of Mallaig before yesterday, however, there are a lot of similarities with your old photo. Like the building with 5 windows, the house with the ridge that goes the wrong way to the other buildings, the church on the skyline, the group of trees.Originally posted by Small pumpkin View Post

To be honest, trade did carry on until the late thirties, so it may have arrived legitimately. The bigger problem is that I would imagine the manufacturer's records have disappeared, so you can't trace where that batch was sent to.
Did the film have any serial numbers etc on it?

All we know about the film I put in the first post. First available on the market in 1960. Had its name changed in 1962. Can’t narrow it down more than that. It was an early colour film. The film developers advised that we have it developed in black & white bye to the age of the thing. More chance of recovering any images.Originally posted by bikermike View Post
