You're right C/corner reading back there's a lot of potatoes mentioned.

We're having a sort of Cottage pie tonight but made with Puy lentils, we're not veggies I just like it made with lentils instead.

Just had a lovely rice pudding - very comforting!
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Yay, Comfreyfan - I'm with you girl!!! (I wish I could make a rice pudding as yummy as the bought ones in trays though...!) Tonight I was tempted by macaroni cheese - with extra parmesan on top!!!
The baboons were chuffed with their baked potatoes at Knowsley today - hmm good idea!

Mash on toast for breakfast with cheese on top [esp if it is leftovers, tastes better]

Have you tried making it in a slow cooker? LadyWayne made some several weeks ago and it was lush - and I'm not a massive rice pud fan.

OK HeyWayne - your latest challenge is... to get LadyWayne to detail her recipe for rice pudding (hopefully including cream, vanilla and nutmeg) so all the grapes who don't understand can see the rice pudding light!!

Do you want some extra carbs with that? Side of pasta or anything?

My comfort for cold days? Home made thick soup.
And g&T - which works for hot ones as well.

                                sorry!

OK- here goes ( from memory...)

                                Ingredients
Thick sliced bread/crumpet/teacake cut in half sideways
Big slab of slightly salted butter

                                tea bag
                                milk
                                boiled water
                                sugar as nec.

                                Method

                                Toast bread/crumpet/teacake
smother with thick coating of butter whilst hot

                                Pour boiling water on teabag
Remove bag and add milk/sugar to taste

serve...(preferably in front of a hot fire and TV)
