I've found that food only tastes eggy when it is undercooked. Otherwise, esp if it is properly seasoned; it shouldn't taste eggy at all.

And that's from someone who doesn't really like eggs; in all honesty if I could live without them I would.

Mange tout, I wouldn't put them in a Yorkshire batter mix - now that would taste funkin weird.

I make Yorkshires pretty much the same way as everyone else. I only tend to use 1 egg but I make very small quantities (OH doesn't like them)

I do make sure that the fat is piping hot and I put them in the oven on a very high temperature and turn it down after about 20 mins.

The main thing I do though is make extras and have them filled with Golden syrup for pudding

I have made yorkshire pud as a pudding by adding sultanas and a little sugar so I can't see why chocolate chips wouldn't work either.

I think you're edging towards pancakes now, but then again it is the same mixture.........or is someone gonna disagree.......

Mine are the same as yours HW, however after reading what you said once about your Silicone tray I've gawn and got one (yet to use it) as the Yorkies had recently started to stick to my (non stick ) muffin trays

You'll not regret it and wonder why it took you so long to start using it.

What is the verdict on silicone bakeware. I saw them in a department store and thought they were a bit pricey. However, our local, This and That shop has them at £1.99. Is that good.

*mumbles* I've thought about it and I'd like to say sorry Mr Wayne.

And on sillycone cookware -it's brill! I love it. I bought some sillycone mini muffin cases in retro ice-cream colours last week and I can't stop playing with them!

Both my mum and OH make delicious Yorkshires, absolutely perfect; they never measure anything though, and all ingredients are added by eye. They both insist that the fat has to be smoking before adding the batter though and the batter mix must be kept cold for an hour or so. Oh and they both use three or four eggs depending upon the numbers/size required.
