  • Pork chops, mashed potato, carrots and brocolli with gravy.
    Stewed apple and ice cream.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      • Baked salmon, new potatoes, carrots and peas.

No strawberries today, but I've made individual orange jellies with mandarin segments in them. I think I'll decorate them with some broken up "99" flake and serve with cream or ice cream.

          • Nicos, you are such a bad influence. I've got half a tin of mandarins left and I'm now thinking of mandarin and ginger trifles tomorrow.😋

            • Chicken and mushroom pie. I'm shortly going to bung some chicken thighs and mushrooms in the slow cooker with whatever bits of veg are loitering in the bottom of the fridge. Later today I'll use it as a pie filling and cover it with shortcrust pastry.

Followed by mandarin and ginger trifle (well it is Bank holiday)

                              Not at all!
Just have to be careful when picking the growing tips (top 3”)
Good wash then cook like you would spinach in a soup.
Wilts down to nothing but full of vitamins and minerals.

I’ve used chicken stock, onions, carrots , barley , nettle tips and various herbs and spices today.

Anything really. It’s good to use rice or potato instead of barley. Maybe celery too…whatever you fancy.
Lovely with crispy fried croutons and grated cheese and a big splodge of Greek yogurt!

                              • I've made tomato and basil soup for tonight. We'll have a dish of grated parmesan and bread and butter with it.

                                Strawberries and cream.
