  • Elderflower champagne ?

I've noticed the elderflower are starting to appear.
Most years I almost leave it too late to pick them ( they change flavour when old) so I'm just giving peeps ( and myself!) a reminder that the time is almost here.....

Anyone else planning on making any this year?

lol you beat me too it mate ,yes folks its that time of year again ,this really is the best homemade wine you can make and you have about a 3-4 week window to pick them (picked my 1st 10-15 flower heads last night on the way home from the plot ) so get cracking ,cheers

I have been eyeing up the elder round the boundary and purposely not chopped it just so I can make some champagne

I have a couple of grapevines here and I always thought it would be nice to have a tiny vinyard but I haven't got around to it yet. I'm sure you know this but vine prunings wine is really nice. It makes a great blending wine for grape wine too.
