Marmite is an excellent yeast nutrient, should help fermentation along nicely, although I fear it may taste of old sweaty jock straps.

we've drunk the demijohn of fennel over two days. It was.....interesting (as in "may you live in interesting times and may you drink some interesting wines")

It sounds VERY interesting if you've drunk the lot in 2 days! Perhaps you had to keep trying it to find an appropriate adjective to describe it. I have that problem with a bottle of red sometimes!

You left the sludge? That's the best bit! A meal in a glass.

I've made lemon balm (Melissa) wine. tbh it had no particular flavour, so I mixed in some fruit tea bags

Off to the shop to buy Chillis and Garlic. Let's see how these go!

The sweaty jock straps remark has put me off the Marmite wine idea though!

                          OK. Another suggestion...

Would Bouillon wine work? The packet says reduced salt, so I assume it won't have huge quantities and mess up the yeast.

I'll try this next week alongside the chilli wine and ginger wine.

                              ohh..... I like it.

                              Lemon Curd wine.

I've got chilli and ginger going (two different buckets!), but fancy this one! My other thought was coffee wine. Would this work?
