  • I shall reveal all later; interesting trial isn't it? I wonder if Carbon Gold would like to warrant a guess about which is theirs and which isn't...

    • It would be good if Carbon Gold did step up and vote
When were the seeds sown Zaz? Just curious!!

      • They're very samey in many of the shots. Very close to call.

          • Is this the revelation of a trial result or a seriously long-running strip-tease...?!

            • Zaz will "reveal all" on Naked Gardening Day on Saturday

              • I would be interested in what the other compost was so that a fair comparison could be made.

                • When you plant them out will the bed have treated & untreated sections so that the trial can continue to see if there is any difference in total weight of produce Zaz ?

                  • I agree with VC and Alldigging in that it looks pretty close, and in some of your photos A looks best and in some (but less overall) B looks best...Confused.com

No. You can do a trial yourself if you like.

It was the same compost, with some carbon gold added to the second tray. You can do a trial yourself if you like.

Was waiting to see if Carbon Gold would pipe up.

Anyway, A was compost without biochar and B was with biochar. Photos are on the other mac, with the labels revealed so will post after tomorrow's adventures in the garden.

                            • What are your conclusions Zaz - since you have seen the plants and we haven't. Is there much difference?

                              • My squash and cucumber plants with biochar/without biochar are looking pretty similar at the moment, I've potted them on tonight still keeping to with and without. They're moving to the polytunnel tomorrow and will be planted in there in a week or two, with biochar in the planting holes for the 'with' batch.
