Default Fungal weather?

Hi all

Not a lot to say really....just thought I would be the first North Easterner to reply to the thread
Weather is as usual, a day behind what the forcasters say
Weather forcasters should always start by saying "I guess" as they are probably well paid psychics
Any other profession who got it wrong so often would be in P45 territory!

Out of interest, its still quite mild and wet here but I think I wil lift remaining onions which are still upright but will surely suffer from fungal problems in this weather if left in ground. Probably better off drying in the greenhouse'shed as they have reached an acceptable size. Views anyone?

Appologies....Shouldn't have asked for views on onions as this will take us "off thread"....I have given myself two slaps to the wrist!

Default Raim, rain and more rain!

Good job our allotments are perched on top of a cliff and are on light soil...water just goes straight through! Reminds me, I must order some muck to give the soil a bit more water retention and put back a few nutrients which are leeched out quickly in this incessant rain

Default Mushrooms

One good thing about this warm and wet weather is a good supply of mushrooms can be collected from the fields! Noticed wild blackberries are reaching maturity also

In the imortal words of Victor Meldrew "I don't believe it!!!" Before I went to bed last night I checked the weather forecast....sunny Sat, Sun & Bank Hol Mon, rain Tuesday. Excellent me thinks...get some graft done in allotment!
Checked the same site this morning, rain Sat, Sun & Mon but joy of joys its going to be sunny on Tuesday, the day I go back to work! They must have read there piece of seaweed wrong again

Looks bright this morning...maybe its time to dig out my shorts again?
Does mean you get mucky legs if you try any allotment gardening...but what the hell!

Had to take refuge in my allotment shed today...it was hissing it down. Gave me a chance to get my onions stringed anyway

Been down and dirty in the allotment today....shirt off and sweating one minute...diving for cover from the rain the next. Couldn't make its mind up what it wanted to do...never mind still quite warm though!

90 Degrees in shed today. I want onions to dry...but not to cook!! Rampicante beans appreciate the heat and so do the melons but had to water the outdoor tomatoes and Butter/borlotti beans as they were wilting. Wilted myself a bit as well and got caught with the sun!

Heavy showers forecast for today but still warm. Didn't rain and was actually quite sunny. Thought I would have a trip to allotment after work if it stayed fine. Finished work at 4.30...started raining at 4.31!!!!!! British weather

Had a good afternoon at the lottie yesterday and had plans made for today!
Woke up this morning to the sound of rain lashing against the window! All my plans for today just went out the window as well!
