  • Wake up call or what.

I'm busy tidying up/ hiding the warts our house has got as it will be going on the market shortly. Little things like the gas meter box was reversed into years ago and now would spoil the kerb appeal.

It's not that I'm lazy, the property has been kept in pretty good order, but I walk past that box every time I enter or leave the house and now have decided it's unsightly.

I pride myself in being proactive and it is because I'm doing something before I have to but it should have been done years ago.

What have you turned a blind eye to?

Kitchen window frame really needs painting. I will do it one day
Other half is very good at turning a blind eye to any request I put forward for jobs that need doing round the house

Hehe! The builders dust is still settling. I don't think I'll get rid of it all until the floors are down.

Loads of things, which may or may not be dealt with, life is too short to worry too much, unless it's really annoying you day in day out, then the satisfaction of clearing or dealing with it is so great it was worth it being there in the first place!

Paid a tenner for second hand gas meter box off Gumtree this morning. Hoped to leave the backplate in place and just fit the cowling. It doesn't flemmin fit and it needs a gas engineer to swap over the backplate so that it would fit. Grrrrh silly me

Oh my goodness - LOADS of things!

We're hoping to put ours on the market this year and I already have a long list of jobs that need doing first - the best example is that I pulled the entrance hall carpet up when I first moved in 5 years ago. Its only a tiny bit of floor so 99% covered by the doormat - and I have never got round to putting anything else down there in its place!!

Now every time I do anything at all in the house I find something that needs to be added to the list of things to do to sell the house!

Um, according to the media the only thing you really need to do is paint everything bland.

Our Gas meter box is an eyesore too! The door blew off and away and I painted it cream last year with some spare paint as it was a manky mess. I was wondering if I could get a new one from the gas board? But I haven't got round to it yet, it's only been bothering me for three years!!!
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

When I've been looking at houses, the most important things have been location, aspect, garden and general feel of the place. Don't think a bent gas meter box would be enough to put me off
