  • What's your poison?

On this merry, festive occaision, what are you swigging / genteely supping and doing, as you welcome our new year in?

I am playing Billy No Mates with a bottle of Pinot Grigio.....Big Bloke (my occaisional OH) has just rung to say he is going to be at work all night, both lads have gone out...and the cat has taken the hump since I dressed her in Secret Santa's Festive collar..

I have a bottle or two of chateaux bridexiii, a delightfully light red, tad new, but still eminently drinkable.

My Occasional OH phoned yesterday, said he won't be down till the weekend, ah well my loss ( yeah right) is the british legions gain, and they are welcome to him

      Evening Crazy Red...

Its 5 o'clock here in the FI, and i have just cracked my first bottle of millers Cheers!

Me and my old man will be spending new years eve on the settee, me knitting him watching a film!! Hes outside at the moment working in the garden, the kids are out playing in the evening sun and i am sitting at my computer checking all the messages (doh)!!!

My sister lives in NZ and they have already seen the new year in, makes the world seem a little strange when you know that elsewhere in the world they have "been there done that, got the T-shirt".

Anyway my 2009 is going to be a truly special year, my Dad returned to the Islands early Dec and in March my sister and her family are coming home, for the first time since i was 7 we will all be living in the same country

Happy new year everyone, wishing you all the luck for 2009 x

What does the occaisional OH do in the British Legion? If that's not an impertinent question?

I had the dregs of a bottle of wine left over from Saturday with the kids, I am now drinking a glass of bacardi and coke will probably have another or a glass of Pimms and lemonade and maybe a baileys. More than I usually drink.

I will be on the Jack Daniels in the Malt Shovel round by the canal, back home to light a fire, have a bath and TV for the rest of the night. I'll probably be on the tea by midnight as I'm not much of a drinker to be honest. OH will be on real ale, both in the pub and the selection we have in the fridge.
We will both be nibbling my cinnamon buns I made earlier.
