  • Most Hated Weeds

I have been weeding everyday this week and have developed a great hatred for the many weeds in my garden. Least bad is probably the lamb's quarters and couch grass, but it gets worse, there are parts of my garden that are almost exclusively spiny amaranth also called thorny pigweed. The only way to get it out, without getting stabbed, is to hoe up all the earth and then pull it out by the root. Truthfully, I am surprised the roots don't have thorns too. What weeds do you hate? My apologies in advance for any stupid American terminology.
The highest reward for a person's toil is not what they get for it, but what they become by it. -John Ruskin

Bindweed, bindweed and bindweed. Not necessarily in that order.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

I don't have any of the really pernicious ones - but hairy bittercress - turn your back and there it is again.

Bloody stinging nettles!! for some reason I have become really sensitive to them. The back of my hand still has little red marks from when I got stung the other day and itches like crazy.
and bindweed I pull as much up as I can get hold of and feed it to my chooks, they love it.

I know where you're coming from, in the centre of my avatar is a 60ft eucalyptus, that casts dappled shade on my garden all day long. Its a beautiful tree, but unmanaged by our neighbours, its about 1/2 the height it can grow too, shame they won't get someone in to give it a little haircut.
