Sadly, he is, Snadger - and making policies to boot.

apparently, he's "a really nice bloke"

And I agree with the gist, in principle I think it's a good idea for everyone to get up every day, get dressed and do "some work" rather than slump in front of Jeremy Kyle.

Picking up litter, gardening for the elderly etc is all worthwhile work, and should be regarded as such. I hope they don't put them in orange jumpsuits or pink tabards or something. Instill a sense of pride in "giving something back".

Mind you, up till now you haven't been ALLOWED to do voluntary work, because that means you aren't AVAILABLE FOR REAL WORK !!

amazing that you could murder someone, and live in relative comfort and ease, and be paid to do a little bit of work on the side ( sewing mailbags) ,but to claim benefit or be out of work, is to be penalized, and vilified. but this gov. thinks that working for nothing would be an incentive to wanting to work... ho hum- what DO they teach these posh boys in those fancy schools? for sure, it's not about real life, or the struggle that IS real life for poor people, who maybe have not had the luck, the skills, the personality, to push themselves forward. we can't all be winners.

what does it say about thier attitude to poor people who can't find a job, through no fault of thier own. because so far, all i am hearing is blame and punishment, but no hope or support. arrogance, arrogance arrogance. and still no thinking beyond to the real problem ( housing, jobs, real living wages)

i hope that is not too political. i dont have a problem with everyone contributing something, but why not something meaningful, ( like building some cheap housing) and get paid some actual money for doing it!

This takes the chuffing biscuit don't it.
The TORY government makes cuts and forces councils to make people redundant then makes them do the same job(litter picking eg) for less money .............................OR ELSE
