    Default I love Lidl bargains!

We spotted the Lidl gardening bargains in my mums local paper last night and Mr OWG conceded that a cultivator-thingy-machine would indeed be most handy, especially since just to hire one costs an arm and a leg here!

So, this morning, he made himself late for work by dropping into a Lidl (not a local one, as there aren't any) and picking up an electric cultivator thing for £40

And also some ladies gardening dungarees for me, as he thought they would be very useful.....

Can't wait until next week, they've got little cold-frames on offer

I wonder if they sell a seven mile extension cord to reach my allotment?

Nevermind, they'll probably have a generator on offer next month.

I went to ours, but there was b/all there. Just seemed to be left-overs from previous offers. Perhaps try again later in the week. Quite a long journey, so not worth looking unless I have some other reson to be in the area. It's just round the corner from my daughter, so if I take my granddaughters dolls house back, I'll have another look.

I have purchased one of those last year. Quite good but I have had 2 problems: in high wind they blow all round the allotment (now keep three bricks on top) and secondly, when hot ash from other plot holders blows onto it, it burns a hole
You know you're a hard nosed gardener when you pull the weeds from others plots!

Can't see the piccies (at work so net nanny is being good and keeping us all safe in our desks!!). But we had the gardneing offers last thursday - I went on saturday (usually a bad idea as all sold out, but got lucky this time). Got a mini greenhouse for €20 (~£14), folding wheelbarrow for €30 (~£20), weed suppressant membrane (2 rolls at €6 each) and a pair of wellies. The cold frame wasn't what I wanted when I saw it in person, but the greenhouse is standing outside our back door weighed down with an old slab from the patio that we were keeping for lottie paths. The fruit trees did look good value, but no point for us at present (we are due to be removed some one of these years so the Council can build a road over our plots and the garden is too small).

Around us, the best plan is to get there early on Thursdays, or else persuade MIL to go to her local one for us (we work, but she is always up and about early enough, whereas my mum wouldn't be the earliest birdie to catch the worm at all).

I hope they're comfyier (sp?) than they look? Very Germanic/Heidi I thought the picture looked!

After wrecking 3 pairs of jeans in the garden last year I can see the value of the dungarees - to wear over regular jeans. Has anyone tried a pair - what are they like?
