Looks like water scald, are you watering from the top then leaving plants in direct sunlight.

I was wondering if it was wind-burn, or scorch of some sort. Almost certainly not mosaic-virus though.

        I doubt that it's a virus.
More likely the leaves are being damaged as a result of too wet/too dry/too cold/too hot/ draughts or sudden climate changes that they don't like.

I leave them in the conservatory at night, and take them out during the day.

I'm sure its sun scorch. A few of my tomato plants that were too near the glass window got this. Its definitely not mosaic virus as that shows itself as little white lines rather like veins running through the leaves.

It's deficiently not Mosaic Virus I had that 2 years ago (see photos) it was on my cucumbers and 1 of my squash, had to throw them all away and disinfect.
I'd go with too wet and sun burn.

It is definitely scorch, your plants have quite a nice colour so I would say like others have said, sun scorch on wet leaves.
Other plants can get scorch if they have been over watered and have a root problem, so cannot take up enough water when it is hot.
