    Default Can any one tell me what this is?

    Hi can anyone tell me what this is, found it why doing the weeding in the garden, the creature had teeth and what looks like a mouse shaped head. I looked up garden grubs but it wasn't like any of the photos. it's about the size of a man's index finger.

    Hi and welcome to the forum!
    Its an Elephant hawkmoth caterpillar. In the 4th photo you can see its extended "trunk".
    The big "eyes" are just to make it look more scary that it is. I think they're cute

    Yesterday, a friend found one in her garden and asked me what it was. Must be the time of year when they're roaming around trying to look frightening
