Don't read if you are apt to fainting at gross stuff!
Decided to do full hen house clean out today, so let the girls out. They were having a dust bath and so I started brushing and emptying their poop/bedding. I proceeded to scrub with ***** Fluid when Eloise came back wings flapping and running like a headless chicken...pursued by Sage who wanted a piece of what Elly had...a tiny toad - eugh gross or what?!
She kept thrashing it and throwing it around and then gobbled it up - DISGUSTING! I have seen them slurp worms and slugs with gay abandon but nothing prepares you for the toad murder.
Got our first blue egg yesterday too!
I'd love blue eggs what breed do you have laying them?

Her name is Sage or Sagey Baby! They are a lovely breed to have and I would like more. Very golden yolks. She can be a bit of a screamer if she is laying an egg or wants her garlic porridge. Quite vocal but such a character. They look very pretty in the garden too.
