  • Tomato Photo Gallery and Info

I thought I'd start yet another tomato thread I love a photo or two and I've been looking for some info on a tomato I have grown to find that "someone" has deleted some of my gardening photos on my old computer. Grr... So I'm starting again here with the photos I do have. Please feel free to add any photos of tomatoes you have grown over the years with any growing info.

      Buffalo Horn

      BUffalo Horn
This is a large cordon tomato, late to ripen but worth the wait.
The fruit hang in trusses of 5-6. Really meaty and great for cooking.

        Orange Banana

Orange Banana is a cordon, quite a spindly plant, with large orange paste tomatoes which are great for cooking. I've grown this one many times as it always produces a good size crop. It does need a lot of water and doesn't perform so well in a pot.

It's so annoying. I have some photos without names on them as I uploaded here at the time I took them with the names and they were lost too! Frustrating.

              Hahms Gelbe Topftomate

Good sized yellow cherry tomatoes. Carry on producing fruit all summer & into the autumn. These are really beautiful looking, tiny micro bush plants, great in a hanging basket or on a windowsill, they blend into the flower garden well, this is one full size plant in this photo-

The Balconi plants (in 3 litre pots in the photos) were potted up into larger pots (probably 8-10 litre) outside after the fruit in the photos had finished. They carried on fruiting well into October.

One of the Balconi tomatoes from the above photo (I think this was the red one) is in the middle of this picture taken 1/10/17, in front of the net.

A delicate citrus tasting potato leafed beef steak, excellent juicy slicer for sandwiches

As said before, not a lover of beef steaks, but this ticks all the boxes and will be given room every year from now on, even saved my own seed from last year's crop, although late, well, well worth the wait!

                    Trust me!

                          Violet Jasper

Violet Jasper is a regular leaf cordon tomato that produces heavy yields of large cherry/ salad size fruit with a lovely green/dark red stripey skin. Mild flavour.

                            Pantano

One of my all time favourite "beef" tomatoes.
Not a huge amount of fruit per plant. I usually grow two stems so that I can stop it early to ripen the early fruit. Fabulous fresh straight off the plant. Great with wine

                              Black Cherry

Everyone's all time favourite. Cordon, cherry tomato with high yields on a vigorous plant.
Very dark red, almost mahogany flesh. On my grow list every year.
