  • Growing some early toms 2018

Following VCs nutty sowing regime, I'm going to start a few toms off on the weekend and post my progress. I know VC has already sown some (no surprises there ) I think Thelma starts off a couple of early plants too.
The plan is to choose just one or two bush or basket varieties (cordons will just get too leggy)....anyone else care to join in the fun? I'll post with regular updates.

Sorry VC I deleted the pic, cos you were right with Bajaja not Bahaha - I had a seed swap pkt that said Bahaha .
So it was seed packet speaking Spanish not you *I've managed to confuse myself now, as well*

Between us, we've got this thread off to a really good start
I think Bahaha is a lot easier to say that Bajaja anyway, so I shall change their name, in my head anyway.

I'm not digging 16 out just to keep you happy, Scarlet.
                Maybe you should sow more.

No ...I had trouble once before when I followed your lead! I ended up with about 150 spare tomato plants

Don't know what's the matter with you two - pair of wimps.
You'll be sorry - when I'm flashing my tomatoes about and all you have are some unopened packets of seed.

Now, who can I find who's easily tempted............

I've sown 2 Shirley seeds for early house grown tomatoes (the really early ones are now ripening on the sitting room windowsill from the sideshoots of last year's plants). I'll soon be sowing balconi red and yellow for the spare room windowsill.

I've grown Bajaja - its a smallish bush tomato which was absolutely laden with tiny fruit (some of the branches broke from the weight). I grew it outside after trying it on the windowsill, where it steadfastly refused to set fruit.

I've also grown Totem, which is another bush but with somewhat larger tomatoes. I did find it prone to greenback and it was also one of the first to succumb to blight.
