Bunching onions

Whyyyyyyyyyyy? I haven't actually grown them they are sat in my box having a long wait

However, I would expect little black seeds that throw up a grass like shoot like most alliums. Is this a trick question?

When you say bunching onion do you been Japanese bunching onion, or are we in the realms of allium confusion like welsh onions, spring onions etc?

) More that I keep seeing seeds described as "bunching onion" that I have always called something different.
i suppose it comes down to the meaning of "bunch"

I think spring onions. you buy them in a bunch tied together with a blue elastic band.

I'll find out soon if the seed I got is any good. I put some in modules last week. I have resisted googling so far. I take it you got the Welsh ones from that website the other week?

Thanks everyone. You all seem to think its a single stalked, spring onion and the bunch means that they're tied in bunches for sale!!

To me, a Bunching onion meant that it would grow multiple stalks, which could be pulled apart, a bit like a shallot. I've been waiting patiently for the Japanese Bunching onions to throw up extra stems, and not picking them, in case I ruined my chances.

Guess I might as well pull them and eat them now

As an afterthought - is any other veg named because of the way its packaged for sale?
We don't grow stringing onions or sacked potatoes

I would have thought along the same lines of spring onions, although I think I have seen some multiplier onions (Welsh, perpetual, everlasting) that have been badges as punching.
