  • I'm hopeless!

    Hi,

I bought a lean-to (about 4x6) to put up against our brick-built shed with the promise that my Dad would build a base for it and help me put it up. The greenhouse has been in the box for a few months and in the meantime my Dad has broken his arm!

I don't mind the odd tiny bit of DIY but I think this is out of my league and I need it to go up asap so I was thinking of hiring someone to do it - problem is, I'm not sure who.

Is it a job for a builder? I'm worried it's a bit of a strange ask for a builder! I didn't buy the base they advertised for the greenhouse as the concrete where I'll need to site it it uneven. A base will have to be built from wood, brick or concrete so that the different levels can be evened out.

Has anyone been in the same situation or got any advice for me? I'd really appreciate it

I would look for a local gardner/odd jobber to do it for you. If the concrete was uneven because it is cracked with age, I would get rid of it and re lay more concrete or flags. If the concrete is sound, then I would mark out the position of the base and lay a ridge of cement to bed the base onto.
I you'st to have a handle on the world .. but it BROKE!!
