Default Hi from Wallsend, North Tyneside

Hi everyone, I stumbled across this forum after yet another local area allotment search. A link brought me to a feed about vacant overgrown plots that have sat empty for long periods of time, it was about 5 years old.

My partner registered with the council 3 years ago and to date has never heard anything which has kind of been a good thing as we have had a very busy few years. Changed jobs, moved house and had a baby!
Things have settled down a bit and I got to thinking about it again as currently we don't have a massive amount of space in the garden (1 raised bed, a small shelved greenhouse, and pots). The latest problem though is my 2 year old who thinks she is helping by digging in all the pots so I don't think we will be having as much success as previous years. However it's great to see the enjoyment she's gets out of digging and playing in the garden.

So I have registered on the waiting list and we shall see if anything comes of it. For now I will be continuing with our small space growing and browsing the feeds here as the advice and knowledge will be great for us inexperienced growers.

Hello Stobbs and welcome. If I were you I'd pop round to the lottie sites and see if you can have a word with someone about plots rather than just rely on them getting in touch with you.

Welcome along - as Jay says - a lot of people have more luck by going down to the local plots and having a word with the people there - you've got nothing to lose by trying. Good luck

Welcome to the forum, get the little one a small bit off muck just for her to play with, say this is yours, even have a sign with her name on,and do the same with your patch, put daddys, she will learn not to touch yours if she has her own, even take her to the shop for a small bag of compost, just for her, anythings worth a try, good luck.
