managed to get 2 blueberry plants and a raspberry plant from lidl for the grand total of £3. they were planted today by my lovely partner, along with 12 strawberry plants we bought.

my project today was to use our new compost bin which we aquired through the freecycle web site. i cleared some ground and cut up some mesh for the base and transferred some of the latest kitchen waste from our old bin to the new one.

the compost is coming along nicely and should be ready to use for the first time in the spring.

managed to sow some lettuce seeds into trays and i am using old loo rolls to grow them. the plan is to transfer them into poly tunnels so not to disturb the roots.

hello mate, new to the site, but ready to take in info and any hints and tips on offer. You are obviously in the know having joined the site almost 3yrs ago. I have two young blueberry plants myself and I have been told they like acidic soil. I believe used teabags are useful for blueberries,is this right?
