sorry to ask again, after so many tried to help last time, but does anyone know how to put photos on the vine on a laptop, using vista home premium, after so many attempts, i am no nearer to being successful,it would have to be stage by stage,as i am not good at using the computor and it means we can never put snapshots onto the vine, today one of the younger birds laid an egg weighing just over 92 grams..now thats a good sized egg...

meant to add,the speckled hens egg was just 33 grams, and about the same age..just a slight difference......

You will need to either upload your photo to an image hosting website such as picasa or flickr and then link the website address of that image using the insert image option in the reply window (advanced not quick reply). Or you need to resize your picture to less than 97.7kb and save it as a jpg file which you can then attach with the paperclip icon in the advanced reply window. tell me which way you wish to go and then I can give you more precise instructions.

Ok, so select your image in the picasa album then right click and select properties(IE) or View image info (Firefox). Copy the url address (starts with http://) of the image and then in the reply to thread window (advanced) click on the insert image icon and paste in the url. Preview the message to make sure this works. For example:

You don't need to resize the image this way.

If you do want to resize your photos though using Picasa the lovely Ben put a link to a tutorial a couple of years ago in 'Fruit & Veg. Showcase'.
                      Resizing Pictures Using Picasa
If you resize your photos to 500 pixels they should be fine for most forums. You find the resized photos in 'Picasa exports' in 'My Pictures' or wherever your photos are normally located. They appear as a thumbnail size pic. when posted as an attachment (click on the paperclip symbol, browse your computer & upload) on here which opens up to a larger photo if you click on it.

There's no need to resize or export. Just copy the image location and insert into reply window with the image icon.
