What a shame the BBC decided to spend money on war rather than education.

That's just really bizarre! Why would you devote SEVEN months to filming a load of negativity, without at least attempting to show the positives?! From the blurb on the program: "Allotment Wars shows what happens when strangers are thrust together on the land with too much time on their hands and too many sharp tools." (my emphasis) Err WTF?! I don't know any plotholders with 'too much time on their hands'! Oooh, that's made me reeet !

If you put your tinfoil hat on, it looks like they are trying to burst the bubble on the appeal of the allotment. Long waiting lists and demands to make more land available.

When you take your tinfoil hat back off though it just looks like more cheap TV

In this strange world we now live in it would seem conflict of one sort or another always get better viewing figures.

As to the BBC having polictical bias surely not LOL.

Thankfully the programme isn't being shown in Wales - why do we have to have programmes with arguments and negativity all the time? Pots is right - they must think they get better viewing figures. Trouble is that people "with too much time on their hands" will watch the programme and we'll all get tarred with the same brush.
Sheneval - I think I'd rather see the Allure of the Allotment instead.

Not sure who the target audience is for Allotment Wars but I know I won't be bothering watching it.

Nobody (but us) would want to watch a half hour, or whatever it is, of happy people gardening happily. Producers need an "angle"

I know Dan from the Allotment Diary on You Tube was approached by the BBC last summer and asked to be on the show. He turned it down because of the negative nature of the program.

Its really a mist opportunity from the BBC as we've be wanting a GYO show on TV for years!

Cheers BB, I saw that but don't understand the comments. I think it could be quite interesting but maybe the BBC could have phrased it better.
