  • scaly pepper leaves

    hi!
I'm growing peppers indoors and one plant has little dark brown dots around the central veins, with little scaly lumps on the underside.
One or 2 leaves have dropped off and the lower leaves have gone quite brown in the sections between the veins.
I give it seaweed liquid feed occasionally.
Any ideas what it is - a disease or lacking nutrients?
It is in flower and has developed quite alot of peppers which havent ripened yet.

The little brown dots could be caused by red spider mite. If so I would expect the scales you describe to be tiny red clusters of eggs. You should also be able to observe silk webs.

It is also wholly possible that this presumption is inaccurate and you are suffering from a form of scale insect or other disease... I am sure more help is on the way.

Lower leaves often discolour and abscise, which is most common.

hi thanks for your reply -
its definately not spider mite, it seems to be a plant problem rather than pests,
      Thanks anyway!
