hi, i have just come back from time working away from home and have noticed blight on my potato,s i have cut the tops off and then pulled the roots up , will this be ok and will spuds be alright left in the ground or will i have to dig up,
Leave them for two weeks, Murfe, before you dig them up on a dry day, if we ever get one. Lay them out to dry for a day or two under cover and then rub off the soil and check for disease. Store the sound ones in the dark but keep an eye on them in case any start to rot.
We have blight here every year and so far using this method mine have stored well. However it has been so bad and early this year that I am having serious doubts about them.
Best of luck
