Identify this fly

Can anyone tell me what this fly is it was in the garden this morning i never saw this type before

Looks like a moth? rather than a fly. I know there are some moths which fly in the daytime, and their wing structure is different to a butterfly.

Having Googled images, I think what you have there is a Burnet Moth, possibly a Six-Spot

My first thought was a Cinnabar moth as I know the caterpillars have been around recently on the ragwort but Sarz's suggestion made me have a look too. I like identification threads as I always learn something new
