identify this plant/weed

Can anyone identify this plant/weed? It seems to get more aggressive each year. It started growing just in the boarder but now has started growing further out onto out lawn. I was hoping to get the lawn looking good this year/next year but with this stuff growing through it it looks a bit weird

If it is that (and it does sound like it) it looks like its near impossible to get rid of. I will have to just keep on top of removing it then

It comes under the fence from next door I squirt it (carefully- with the weed inside a cut down placcy bottle) with glyphosate whenever I see it, one year I had alot of patches on the lawn, but it has never got that far since

Definitely Ground Elder. Great stuff - keeps me employed...
