I sowed alot of seeds one seed per compartment of seed tray and i was checking and saw my strawberry had emerged and next to it was this, i left it to grow to see what it was and now im confused as what it is. my first though was weed...it has a long thick and redish stemLast edited by julie87; 25-03-2012, 06:44 PM.Comment

cant remember it was out of last yrs pots that grew pumpkins in.. i understand anything could of got into soil since but i dnt wanna throw it away if goodComment

Exactly. If it's reused compost, any old weed could have flown in.
Grow it on a bit and ask us again in a few weeks

don't recall a weed with seed leaves like that,my bet is also a sun flower,squash and cues start with wide seed leaves as well,so when the true leaves are bigger you will tell wether flower or veggie,sigpicAnother nutter ,wife,mother, nan and nanan,love my growing places,seed collection and sharing,also one of these
