Found a load of these in my compost caddy which only had some recently harvested leek leaves and roots.

Any idea? No visible signs of leaf damage on the leeks (needed the space so dug them up)

When they're bigger they turn into that characteristic C shape (C for chafer)

They are the little buggers that have just about destroyed SWMBO's small lawn. They eat the roots of the grass and foxes and so on dig up whats left to get to the grubs.
