  • Weed I.D por favor!

What's this please? I thought it might be chickweed, but just looked that up and it's not..

Looked up clover weed - and it doesn't seem to be that (missing light stripes on each leaf). It's pretty much taking over my bloomin raised bed!

It's definitely not chickweed. I just looked up trefoil cos I thought it might be that, but apparently not. Whatever it is start pulling it out.

I'd say it is Yellow Oxalis (Oxalis corniculata) also known as Sleeping Beauty.

Although, I hope, for your sake, it isn't. My Dad has it in his Asparagus bed. I can, reluctantly, tell you, you will never get rid of it! We've been trying for years!

I've got the red-leaved oxalis, and I ruddy hate it. It's very difficult to stop. Pull it and it snaps, leaving the root in the soil. It's low growing so the mower misses it.
It grows behind my thorny roses and just laughs at me as I struggle to weed it out

It's related to the Oca we grow to eat - but it's not tuberous. As Two sheds says, it's a beggar to get rid of!

                      Want any yellow ones?

My chickens are really munching through it - so happy to let them sort it out until I can be bothered/they start eating things I want!
