  • Have I done the right thing?

I know this is beastie related so Mods please move if you think it should be moved::::::: Shop bought Ramiro peppers that I took seeds out of, the leaves started with pinholes then developed into large chunks taken out of the leaves. Tonight I decided that I would take all of the infected leaves off the plants & discovered one of the peppers had a hole in it, when I split the pepper open, it had a beastie inside. Did I do right by removing all of the partially eaten leaves as I am hoping to overwinter a couple of the plants. sorry for the poor quality of the beastie, it has now gone to meet it's maker. Thanks in advance.

Maybe it's something about Ramiro. I have got similar looking beasts in my greenhouse munching through my tomatoes and Ramiro peppers. It is surprising how much they can eat as my first suspicions were of mice.

We've had those a few times We've come to the conclusion that they come from some kind of moth because they don't seem to appear in the back-garden greenhouse if it gets closed every night.

Thanks, maybe that is the answer. Will start closing the greenhouse door.
