I'm fairly sure the potato on the left has common scab, but what's that on the potato on the right? Is that a different kind of common scab, or something else entirely? (Maris Peer)


And what's the deal with the acne-ridden french bean? His baby-faced younger brother grew right next to him, but hasn't got the same pock-marking. (Tendergreen)

Aaaaaaaah, that makes sense. I discounted powdery scab as it wasn't...er...powdery? I can't find anywhere if it's still safe to eat.
Hope so, I already ate it.

Judging by this, I've eaten plenty with common scab on..

First the potatoes, I reckon that is common scab, on both of them, now knowing that our supermarkets company's sell potatoes with this problem, I can not see there is any problems with eating them or even growing them. The way I understand common scab, is that it occurs when there is a PH imbalance problem with the soil..correct that and it may just go away?

Next the beans, how about mosaic virus?
