  • short sunflower with crispy leaves?

    Hi,

Ive planted out my sunflower, its a little stunted (only 3ft tall) but we dont mind. Its starting to flower by the looks of things.

Yesterday I noticed that it looks like its been burnt? a couple of the leaves look brown and crispy around thier bases (only at the top near the flower).

    Anyone have any ideas?
I havent watered it on the leaves, although I think I left it in its pot a bit too long (hence it flowering I presume) - would this be right?

    Thank you

did you harden off at all? or just take it straight from the greenhouse to the garden?

      hmmm,

Id like to say 'yes of course' but thinking about it with all the two'ing and fro'ing of the smaller plants I fear the sunflowers may have been neglected.

How would that have made the brown bits? I thought that would just kill them outright? or at least make them limp and floppy.

Has he 'had it' ? or do you think it may recover (Ive got a back up ready to go in a pot)

      Thank you
