  • Tent caterpillars...

..I've had a busy morning squashing a pile of what I think are tent caterpillars
I've never seen them in the UK- but we have a lot of them over here in my garden in France- both on the black cherry tree and espalier apple trees.
It's been easy to cut off the affected leaves ( rather than branches) and squish them- but the cherry tree is huge- and they're all at the top

These are what it looked like...

When disturbed the blackish caterpillars squirmed and dropped out of the 'tent' to 'save' themselves.

(Do you think that's what I've got- that piece says USA)

Anyone else experienced them- and how are you controlling it????
