    Snow has now gone exposing my cabbages, well to be accurate the stems of the plants, tops all gone bar 1, pesky rabbits might just end up in a pie............grrrrrrrrr.

      I feel your pain Burnie, only my pesky nibblers were Muntjacs. Hope you get shot of them soon!

        Do you know rabbits were confined to managed warrens for many years in this country, and only subsequently escaped into the wild ?

        Warrener being a surname derived from this occupation.

          I did not, nickdub. Hard to believe given the numbers I used to see in fields alongside the railway line during my weekly trips from London up north, where Mr Snoop-to-be used to live. Surprising amount of info on Google about it. The things I'd never know if it weren't for Google...

                I guess I shouldn't have removed the chicken wire until after I got some new stuff to replace it, they were the only brassicas I'd grown last year, it's usually the caterpillars that get them, nature eh?

                  I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite,the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
