Apple tree pests

I have a appletree given to me last year (don't know what type) its been in a pot so I planted in my alloment and now I need to move it down to the other end any tips. Also I have had some apples off it but some had some sort of insect eating there way out of some of them I think its a eating apple although its mottled it has a dark green colour will findout if any probs with it as I'm making a apple and rubbarb crumble and my husband is first to try it lol
