Tomato blight

Once again I have blight in my G/house toms I have removed affected leaves for burning, but how long have I got before it gets into the as yet green fruits?

I sympathise with you greatly. I had the same problem last year, and this year i have managed botyritis, in 1 of my GH`s.What an idiot eh, prolly get red spider mite next! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

A lot of my toms last year still ripened on the vine. I made regular inspectons and removed any affected fruit or leaves. So you still have a window of opportunity.

Should I remove all the leaves now, would that help?

Hi,

I removed all of mine that were affected and binned them. Remember not to put it in your compost bin.
I think it was someone on the RHS message board that reccomended I do that. I was careful to not touch healthy bits while removing and washed hands etc after, so as not to help the spread.

There is something you can spray with, before it gets to the fruit. Sulphur I think ??

Bordeux mixture (copper sulphate) but it hasnt worked.

Pick off all the affected bits and distroy them. Inspect every day and continue to clip off the affected areas. Spray with the bordeaux mix, it will help to slow the blight down even if it doesnt eradicate it completely. Give the plants as much air and space from each other as you can as this wet and humid weather is the cause of so9 much disease in the greenhouse. Good luck. I am batteling the same bxxxxdy blight.
