Nasty weather forecast for thursday/friday

Think I heard correctly on the radio, but I'm sure they said that the UK was going to get the tail end of a hurricane on Thursday/Friday - lots of wind and rain but around 20C! dexterdog

I heard on the radio that it would be nice but very strong winds tomorrow, not heard about the hurricane tho DD, so thanks for the heads up! Now...... wonder if I can figure the huricane as an excuse to get some time off work and go down the allotment and continue the weeding...... Lol!

what happened? the weather guys and gals said the weather was going to be awful! awful but warm! well it certainly has been warm and a bit windy - much better than I expected! dexterdog

28 degrees C this afternoon in Congleton!! I was roasting sat in my car on works car park having my lunch!! Just hope it stays like this for a little while longer, at least until we have the plot clear of weeds and dug over / organised! lol!

just stopped raining or is it a brief break in between showers
any way went down to the plot on tuesday afternoon after the lovely morning we had i got out the old spade and fork and it lashed it down bloody typical so much work to do and the weather gos bad

OH was going to put down the paving flags today ready for the new shed but the garden is awash

We have 100m of fencing to put up on Saturday, so we'll be out in the waterproof all-in-ones on Saturday if its still raining!

Currently the field is a quagmire (good word that!)

We went to look at a free greenhouse today, got there at 10am, then spent 5 hours dismantling it, in the pouring rain until 1pm when it brightened up! Fortunately took good wet weather gear with us!

The temperature dropped to about 6 degrees C outside last night & there was a definite nip in the air so I think autumn is well on it's way. If it wasn't for all this rain I think we might get a touch of frost soon but the cloud is keeping the temperature up at the moment. Wish it would stop raining as I'd like to get some spring bulbs & my autumn onions in .
