Last night I read through the instructions for the PAPER POTS that WiZer posted but was too tired to have a go. This morning fresh and bright I decided to have a try. I found two sheets of a newspaper and that was it. . Ok decided to wait for Fridays freepaper. Hours later I went into the garage and *Ding Dong* brain wave. I spotted 10 rolls of wallpaper (light brown with a little leaf pattern) EXCELLENT...I am going to be making several to use for the plant sale in may. Take a little look...Feeling quite pleased with my efforts. THANKS WiZer for the Brilliant step-by-step photos

WiZer's paper pots are brilliant...I'm now growing everything in them. They hold up really well to watering too. I stand them all up in plant trays or in old mushroom trays. I've found one page of a tabloid to be the optimum size for most things (but not the Sun, that's rag not paper

Checking on the greenhouse yesterday, I found that paper and fibre pots are a haven for slugs, they retreat there during the day, so keep a close eye on the pots, mine were in icecream cartons so hadn't checked them individually for a day or two, they will now get a regular inspection all the way round and on the bottom!

How DO slugs and snails get in the green house? I can never understand this. I keep the door closed at night and I have never seen one clambering over the metal base in the day and my greenhouse is on a concrete base which extends far further than the perimeter

It's probably something they are taught in slug and snail school.

I have duct tape all the way round the bottom where greenhouse meets the base. For added security, gravel on three sides.
I am considering posting a Menu Board out side stating..."Fresh Snails, Dish Of The Day".. that might make them migrate elsewhere

I think the sun could make excellent pots for germinating melons.

Well done lauren! Im a big fan of the newspaper pots, I bought one of those little thingys that you just roll your paper around and then screw up the bottom. It only cost �9.99 but since last year it has been worth every penny!

OOooooo I forgot about the newspaper pots.... I made them for the first time last year from Wizer's instructions and must confess I taped the bottom as they kept unfolding, but they were fab, and free too as the papers would have only gone for the recycling men

The Sun is the best for newspaper pots it is well impregnated with manure!

That does not mean you should buy it though.

I don't think my local freebie newspaper would be impressed if they hear thet though, as that's what makes up my pots! Hee hee
