Urine for compost

Oh brilliant! So I can't wait til I can get my toddler peeing in the potty so I can use that! Must get the DH peeing in a bottle for me..

Am I right in thinking that anyone on meds shouldn't be using theirs? I'm on tablets that are still effectively chemo, so that's probably no good is it?

i also dilute mine and use it round the garden ... i have a shewee, so you can stand up to wee with minimal exposure ... works a treat, and i just do it in my household compost bucket and empty daily (with lid) or into a milk bottle .... never smelled it yet

I've not yet seen the Shewee for sale in gardening shops yet but who knows............

Ladies sorry to upset you but its only heewee not shewee that is suitable for the compost bin.

If you want to deter Deer and foxes it is Shewee.

lol thats actually rubbish ... my wee is perfectly fine thank you lol ... it does wot it's supposed to and makes stuff grow and makes great compost ... so what if my son starts growing girlie bits when he eats the veg

Currently my compost are mostly kitchen waste (in a plastic compost bin with lid) and I tend to have a separate compost area (bricked up) for grass cuttings. I notice grass cuttings take much shorter to break down, is there anything I can do make the kitchen waste break down faster to be used quickly as garden compost. I do use Garota now and then.

You need a mixture of stuff to make good compost, the Royal 'Wee' won't do it alone. Start off by mixing some of your fresh grass mowings with the kitchen waste and add some newspaper and cardboard bits. I can't imagine the poor worms sticking around if they get urine dumped on them every day Nettles is a good activator, too.

mine get it dumped on em about once a week the heap is now half the size it was and crawling with wildlife .. including worms
