Honey bees.

Finally spotted some honey bee's today at the allotment all over my Borage flowers. Their have been quite a few bumblers around , which is good, but the humble honey bee has been in short supply

Yes, same here. Last year I had loads all over my lavender, this year, just bumbles. There were one or two might have been honeybees, but were probably mining bees, as some of them look a lot like honeybees. I get holes in the lawn so I know I have miners.

I hadn't seen many honeybees here either this year, until I went out in the garden very early one morning and saw gangs of them raiding the mullein flowers.

Loads up here in Alnwick, Northumberland too When my Poached Egg Plant (Limnanthes douglasii) was in bloom I just couldn't count all the bees - there were THAT many! Perhaps grow a few of these plants to attract them to your plot? I only had the one patch this year but next year I'm going to have a few scattered around the whole allotment
