    Frogspawn we have by the truckload but I don't recall ever seeing a newt here.

      Another warning, hens eat large frogs as well as froglets, I was horrified last year to see one of my hens running about with half a frog in her beak! I kept my hens in their run while the frogs were laying spawn this year.
      The best things in life are not things.

        Last night I had two football-sized pieces of frogspawn in my small, still, un-pumped pond. It is at the start of my latest You-Tube video if anyone is interested.

        I also saw two newts tucking in - last year only a handful of frogs survived to leave the pond, I am hoping for more this year.
