  • Keeping the deer around my place

I plant about 4 acres of land for the deer, wild turkeys, and who ever wants to stop by for a bite, my food plots consist of medium red clover, alfalfa, black oil sunflowers for my feathered friends. Generally in the fall , I plant, purple top turnips, rape, beets, to try and hold them over until spring rolls around.

    Interesting.
I try to plant stuff to keep the deer out - they can stay in the woods and leave my peas and raspberries alone!
    Do you have any pictures?

Sounds like a nature reserve Gary!! Well done you, for providing food for wildlife. Makes my few birdfeeders seem very insignificant

Thanks veggiechicken, I really enjoy nature, Ive got a couple veg. gardens that are fenced in to keep the deer out, a little while ago I went up to one of two gardens to dig a few zinnas up for a friend to transplant, and I came upon two hen wild turkeys with atleast 20 young turkeys, what a pleasant surprise. Birdfeeders help the birds get thru the winters, so what you are doing is a good deed.
