  • We have badgers in the garden!

For the past few early mornings we've heard grunting/growling/yapping and squealing in our garden - just beneath our bedroom window ...and been wondering what on earth has been making that noise.
OH has been 'doing a goooogle' ( yup- I'm training him up well ) and come up with this fantastic site!
    Have a listen....

Wow, Nicos!! I've listened to all the noises - some are so cat or birdlike I doubt that I could tell them apart in the wild. I like "Badchat" - could be the title for the Chat thread - or maybe the Rants

We have badgers too Nicos. We find that they don't do any damage this time of year (touching wood!) just using the garden as a route to somewhere else it seems!

We generally here them about 01-03am - I hope we continue to do so. By the way, they love peanuts and peanut butter. None have attacked our chicken run, so as long as you are secure by dusk, as most hen keepers are, you should be fine.

They're locked indoors in the pigsty during the night behind an electric fence...should be OK- but thanks for the warning- I didn't know they'd attack chooks..yikes!

Badgers invade my allotment especially to feast in the sweetcorn - every year, can anything stop them ? (Apart from an electric fence) !

Could be tricky you could make the garden your allotment. Similar size. You'd have the badgers, foxes, mice, squirrels, voles, woodpeckers, beds of prey, woodland birds.
