  • Ladybird- 'thought for the day'

I finally managed to do a bit of tidying up in the herbaceous borders today and spotted my first ladybird clinging to a dead leaf.

Not knowing much about ladybirds ( I know- I could Goooogle )...I'm not sure if it was actually hibernating.
I covered it over again with dead leaves.

Thing is I thought they hibernated in groups- not on their own...so as it was on it's tod, does that mean it had come out of hibernation??

We had a heavy frost last night.
    Hope it'll be OK tonight

Are they still kipping or are they out and about with the warmer weather? Seen a bumble too, not today though.

Mine was just sat there sitting...or snoozing away ....or else standing very very still!

I thought they only hibernated in groups...which is why I was asking if it was perhaps hibernating on it's own and I should have moved it somewhere warmer.
