The chestnut tree will be overhanging the pond, so will what I think is a wallnut tree and a cobb nut. I hope frogs like leaves. Thankfully the oak is well away from it.

So, after some pondering and measuring and chatting I've decided I need to move my oak, in 20 years it'll be into the neighbours garden. I originally measured wrong and even though it looks far enough away from the hedge, it's not.

To be safe I'm sticking it right in the middle of the front lawn. It can grow to 30m there and still not overhang anything.

Better to move it now than in a year or two's time - but I don't envy you digging it up and replanting it. Poor tree is probably budding up now too.

I'd love to do it tomorrow but never have any help and can't do it alone. It still has wire mesh and a bio degradable bag over the rootball so won't have branched out into the new soil yet.
