  • Pine Tree

While out for a short stroll, the wife found a really large pine-cone, full of seeds, in fact, we've never seen an pine-cone as big, and it had over 30 seeds in total, now the problem is, we don't know how to grow a pine tree from seed.
We feel it would be a total waste to throw the seeds away, so we've decided we're going to give as many seeds as possible the chance to become a tree, so, if anyone has grown a tree from seed, or preferably a pine tree, what do we do to get the best results.
Once we've got them established, God willing, we'll take them to some wild forest and plant them out.
As usual, any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

It would be good if you could identify the type of pine tree before you even think about planting it in a "wild wood". It could be an alien species that would be inappropriate there. In fact, you shouldn't even consider planting a tree on someone else's land without their permission.
Grow them from seed, yes, but look for proper homes for your trees afterwards.

My first thought was exactly the same, I'm all for planting and growing but the planting of non native species in wild woodland could, long term, have disastrous consequences.
