  • Bizarre mango-feeding insect

Can anyone help identify this bizarre insect which has attached itself to my mango sapling?

    Kill it or keep it?

    Thanks

    In a word no.

It looks a bit like a lacewing, but I hope someone on here can help.

I agree with valmarg. Is it a lacewing attacking a scale insect?

Whatever it is, I wouldn't want it on my Mango.

Looks similar to a shield bug (usually green in my experience) which has sprouted wings - my submission to the liar's club! Or even a second insect sitting on top of a 'well-tanned' shield bug and preparing to 'lift' it to another location! Very odd thing.

Very interested to know what it is when identified by expert.
