  • What kind of Caterpillar is this?

This colourful character I saw in a garden centre in Western Scotland and haven't been able to find it in any books - any ideas?

Hi bushbybabe, welcome to the vine.

It's a Lappet Moth caterpillar...here's a photo of the adult.

It's a Tussock Moths QoS, the really young caterpillars are lighter in colour.

Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

That's brilliant! I'm really impressed too. Isn't there a "What is it" forum? I could do with one all to myself with the number of photos I take of 'things' I don't recognise. The people on here are really helpful. Thanks
